    1. INTRODUCTION
  • The Sant Fèlix mural about Festa Major was created by Àura Gumà, using the dimensions of 2,68m x 2,68m.
    The mural is situated in the Plaça de Santa Maria, 1, 08720 Vilafranca del Penedès.
    Àura Gumà has lived in Sant Pere de Riudebitlles since the 5 years until the age of 18,. Then went to Barcelona to be degreed in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 2009.
  • 2. DESCRIPTION
  • Firstly, in the centre of the image you can see the saint of the city of Vilafranca in black, with a sun that illuminates the whole mural in an intense yellow.
    Secondly, next to Sant Fèlix, we can see the church of Santa Maria also represented in black, and on the other side of the saint, we can see a red chicken and a red heart.
    Finally, at the top, the author's signature is represented by a bear with bright red wings.
  • 3. ANALYSIS
  • The main character in this piece of art is Sant Fèlix, and behind its figure takes place some kind of golden sun that pretends to highlight him. Inserted between the sun and the saint there is a white square with a pattern of red winged dogs that are simply the artist’s signature. There are other details- the heart and the red chicken- that represent the digital era.
  • 4. SOCIAL ISSUES
  • This mural tries to emphasize the importance of the Festa Major in Vilafranca del Penedes, since Saint Felix is ​​the patron saint. to the left of the image is the Església de Santamaria, which is the church of Vilafranca.
