👋 Welcome to Edumaps!
-
-
Great to have you working with Edumaps!
-
This map guides you through the most important functions in about 20 minutes - at your own pace, no in-person training needed.
-
-
How it works:
-
- Work through each column box by box.
- Tick off completed steps in the checklists.
- Your ticks are visible only to you - every teacher has their own progress.
-
Tip: This map is itself a perfectly normal Edumaps pinboard. Everything you see here, you can build yourself afterwards.

🗺️ How Your First Map Comes Together
-
A map is your digital pinboard. It consists of columns and boxes.
-
-
First map:
-
- Open the menu and click New Map.
- Choose "Empty Map".
- Set a format: pinboard, stickerwall, timeline, gallery, or journal.
- Enter a title.
- Save the map - done.
-
First column:
-
- Click New Column.
- Give the column a title.
-
Creating and filling your first box:
-
- Click New Box.
- Give the box a title. Save.
- Click the orange pencil icon.
- Enter text in the box editor.
- Format the text (e.g. make it bold or insert a list).
- Upload images, videos, audio, and other files.
- Insert a link on a line of its own so the automatic link preview appears.
-
You can switch a map's format at any time - try it out.
🤝 Sharing & Collaboration2
5
🤝 Sharing Without Hurdles
-
The heart of Edumaps: students need no account of their own to participate.
-
-
Two kinds of links:
-
- Read link: recipients can view the map
- Write link: recipients can create and edit boxes
-
How to share:
-
- Open the share dialog in your map.
- Choose Read or Edit.
- Copy the link, show it as a QR code, or send it directly.
-
Individual boxes can be shared too - handy when you only want to hand out a single task.
-
The QR code is perfect for the projector: the class scans it and everyone is in.

🎓 Modules for the Classroom
-
Boxes can do more than text and images:
-
- Poll: votes directly in the box, live results
- Checklist: task lists to tick off - each person has their own progress (like in this map!)
- Quiz: questions with evaluation
- Comments and likes: can be enabled per box
-
Don't start from scratch:

The template catalog contains over 200 ready-made templates - from teaching units to parents' evenings to class trips. Pick a template, adapt it, done.
