📊 Polls: Votes in Any Box

  •
  • With the poll module you add a vote to any box - for scheduling, student feedback, parent surveys, or ratings.
  • How to set up a poll:
    1. Open one of your maps in edit mode.
    2. Open the box editor of a box and click Modules.
    3. Choose Poll.
    4. Choose single choice or multiple choice.
    5. Adjust the prefilled options - done.
  • Good to know:
    • A box may contain only one poll.
    • Registered users and anonymous visitors can vote.
    • Clicking the checkbox again removes your own vote.
    • As the map owner, click a vote counter to see who voted for what.
  • ⚠️ Don't change a poll once votes have been cast - otherwise the existing votes shift to the wrong options.

☑️ Checklists: Tasks to Tick Off

  • With the checklist module you create task lists to tick off - for weekly plans, packing lists, station learning, can-do lists for self-assessment, or courses like this one.
  •
  • How to set up a checklist:
    1. Open the box editor for a box.
    2. Click Modules and choose Checklist.
    3. Enter the items; add more with Add item.
    4. Change the order by dragging the handle on the left.
    5. Confirm with Done - the placeholder CHECK1 appears in the box content.
  •
  • The difference to a poll:
    • With a poll, the overall result of all votes matters
    • With a checklist, your own progress counts - each person has their own state
    • Anonymous visitors can tick items too; clicking again removes the tick
  • ⚠️ Don't change the order or number of items of an active checklist - otherwise ticks that are already set may shift.

📥 Tasks: Assigning and Tracking Boxes

  • With the task module you turn any box into a trackable task - with status, priority, due date, and assignment to a user. Ideal for project management, class duties, or distributing work among colleagues.
  •
  • How to assign a task:
    1. In edit mode, open the box settings via the three dots.
    2. Choose Assign task.
    3. Set a status (Open, In Progress, Stalled, Query, Done, Archive).
    4. Optional: set a priority (Low, Medium, High), a due date, and the recipient's username.
    5. Save - the recipient receives a notification and write access to the map.
  •
  • Good to know:
    • Without a user entered, the task applies to yourself.
    • The central overview of all received, assigned, and own tasks is on the Tasks page.
    • Tasks with a due date automatically appear in the user calendar, and via iCalendar link also in Google or Apple Calendar.
    • Once priorities are set, a task filter appears at the top left of the map.
  • Tip for wrapping up: the recipient sets the status to Done, you receive a notification and can check the result. Then you can archive the task - it disappears from the task list and the calendar.

🎉 Course Completed!

  • All checklists ticked? Then you have now mastered the three interactive core modules of Edumaps.
  • Quick recap:
    • A poll asks: what does everyone think?
    • A checklist asks: what have I completed?
    • A task asks: who does what by when?
  •
  • What's next:
  • Good luck using them in your classroom!
