🎯 Targeted Sharing2

🎯 Teachers Edit, Students Read – No Anonymous Access

  • You know the read link and the write link from the introduction. Now you combine both deliberately - the most common real-world case:
    • colleagues should edit
    • all students should read
    • anonymous users should have no access
  • Here's how:
    1. Open the map share dialog via the blue share button.
    2. Choose Edit and enable the checkbox Access for registered users only - this link goes to your colleagues.
    3. Open the dialog again, choose Read without the checkbox - this link goes to the class.
  • Individual boxes can be shared the same way: click the three dots on the box, then choose Link to box.

🧩 Sharing Columns2

🧩 Sharing Columns: Reading and Writing Mixed

  • The most powerful sharing tool: one link that defines which columns are shown and which access right applies per column (read or edit).
  •
  • Here's how:
    1. Click the blue share button and choose Share columns.
    2. Click Create new link.
    3. Click the columns: the first click means read, the second click edit, the third click removes the rights again.
    4. Then click Next, give the link a title, and optionally enable the login requirement.
    5. Finally click Create link and copy the link or the QR code – done.
  • Tip: You can edit existing column links at any time - students keep the same link, only the rights change. Handy for weekly plans: unlock one more column each week without handing out new links.

👥 Distributing to Classes and the Whole School

  • Instead of sending links one by one, distribute maps directly to your learning groups:
  •
  • Sharing with a group or class:
    1. Click the blue share button, then Share map to class.
    2. Pick the group in the dropdown and set access to Read map or Edit map.
    3. Recipients find the map on their Received page.
  • So group 1 can edit and group 2 can only read - simply share twice with different groups and different rights.
  •
  • For all staff and all students:
  • In the map settings under Publish, choose My School (read). The map then appears for everyone on the My School page - without distributing any link.

📁 Folders2

7

📁 Folders: Collect, Distribute, Search

  • Folders contain references to maps - the map stays where it is and can be saved in any number of folders at the same time. Other users' maps too.
  •
  • The key moves:
    • Create a new folder on the My Folders page.
    • Add a map: inside the folder via Add map, by map link, or directly from an open map via the map menu with Add to folder.
    • Folders can also be saved inside folders - for structures by subject, class, or school year.
    • Every folder can be password-protected, released for My School, or placed in your public profile.
  •
  • The insider tip: The folder search scans all boxes of all maps in the folder. Collect your department's maps in one folder and find any material in seconds.

🎉 Course Completed!

  • You now command the full sharing repertoire: targeted links, column groups with mixed rights, distribution to classes, school release, and folder structures.
  • Quick recap:
    • Link for everyone outside
    • Group/class for your learning groups
    • My School for the whole building
    • Folders for collecting and finding
  • With that, most sharing questions disappear from daily routine - and from the staff room.
