Founder and Developer
Edumaps was founded, technically developed and programmed by Kai Noack and is operated by him as a sole proprietorship. Kai Noack is a media computer scientist, founder and architect of digital education systems. With Matheretter and Edumaps, he has combined technical development, didactic thinking and the design of intuitive learning and working environments for many years. He is responsible for the product architecture, technical implementation and ongoing development of the platform.
Background: Matheretter
As early as 2009, Kai Noack founded the German-language learning platform Matheretter – an established, multi-award-winning e-learning service for visual mathematics teaching with learning videos and interactive programs. The many years of work on Matheretter form the technical and didactic foundation on which Edumaps was created.
Launch of Edumaps in 2020
Building on more than a decade of experience with educational software, Kai Noack launched the Edumaps platform in 2020. The aim was to offer a flexible, data protection-compliant alternative to pinboard-based tools.
Functions and Areas of Use
Edumaps enables teachers and educational institutions to create interactive pinboards, timelines, weekly plans and complex learning paths – complemented by AI-supported functions for faster preparation of materials. The platform is accessible and built in compliance with the GDPR (VIDIS-verified). The user interface is available in six languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian.
Integration into Education Systems
Edumaps is integrated into various state-level solutions and media networks, including Edupool Hessen, the Bildungsmediathek NRW, the Bildungsserver Sachsen-Anhalt and several single sign-on services.
